Terms of Service

These terms govern your access to and use of Streamlet's media infrastructure platform — video streaming, image and document hosting, and delivery APIs. Please read them carefully.

01

Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") form a binding agreement between you ("you" or the "Customer") and Streamlet ("Streamlet", "we", "us", or "our"), operator of the media infrastructure platform available at streamletedge.com and its subdomains, APIs, dashboards, and SDKs (collectively, the "Service").

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and "you" refers to that organization. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

02

Definitions

  • "Content" means any video, image, audio, document, caption, metadata, or other data you upload, stream, store, or process through the Service.
  • "End User" means any person who views, downloads, or otherwise accesses your Content through the Service.
  • "Plan" means the subscription tier you select — Free, Starter, Builder, Pro, or Scale — each with its own storage, processing, and feature limits.
  • "API Keys" means the credentials issued to you for programmatic access to the Service.
03

Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to use the Service. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your credentials, API Keys, and account secure.

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, including activity by your team members and by anyone using your API Keys. Notify us immediately at [email protected] of any unauthorized use. We are not liable for losses arising from your failure to safeguard your credentials.

04

The Service

Streamlet provides media infrastructure for developers, including video ingestion and adaptive-bitrate (HLS) transcoding, image and document hosting, automatic caption generation and translation, protected and signed delivery, and a global edge delivery network with no egress fees on paid plans.

We continuously improve the Service and may add, modify, or remove features. We will use reasonable efforts to give notice of material changes that adversely affect core functionality. Beta or preview features are provided "as is" and may be changed or withdrawn at any time.

05

Plans, billing & payments

Paid Plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual cycle through our payment processor, Razorpay. Customers in India may pay via UPI, cards, or net banking; international customers are billed in USD via card. By subscribing, you authorize us and our processor to charge the applicable fees to your payment method on each renewal date.

Renewals & cancellation

  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each cycle unless cancelled before the renewal date. You may cancel at any time from your billing settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period.
  • Downgrading a Plan may reduce your storage, processing, and feature limits. You are responsible for bringing your usage within the limits of your new Plan.
  • Fees are exclusive of applicable taxes (including GST), which will be added where required by law.

Refunds

Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable and there are no refunds or credits for partial billing periods, unused storage or processing capacity, or features not used. If you believe you have been charged in error, contact us within 15 days at [email protected] and we will review the charge in good faith.

Non-payment

If a payment fails or is overdue, we may suspend or limit your access, throttle delivery, or restrict processing until the balance is settled. Content associated with an unpaid account may be deleted after a reasonable grace period following notice.

06

Free tier & fair use

The Free tier is offered subject to a fair-use policy and is intended for evaluation and low-volume, non-commercial use. We may apply limits on storage, processing minutes, video duration, resolution, bandwidth, and caption generation, and may adjust these limits over time. We reserve the right to throttle, suspend, or terminate Free-tier accounts that place an unreasonable burden on our infrastructure or that we reasonably believe are being used to circumvent paid limits.

07

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service, and not to allow any End User or third party to use the Service, to upload, store, deliver, or transmit any Content or to engage in any activity that:

  • Infringes any copyright, trademark, trade secret, publicity, privacy, or other intellectual-property or proprietary right;
  • Is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, abusive, fraudulent, obscene, or that depicts child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or non-consensual intimate imagery;
  • Contains malware, viruses, or code designed to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to any system or data;
  • Violates the privacy or data-protection rights of any person, or was collected or shared without required consent;
  • Attempts to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, bypass authentication, or circumvent usage limits, rate limits, or access controls;
  • Uses the Service as a general-purpose file store, CDN for unrelated assets, or to relay traffic in a way inconsistent with media hosting and delivery;
  • Resells, sublicenses, or white-labels the Service except as expressly permitted in writing.

We may, but are not obligated to, review Content and may remove or disable access to Content or suspend accounts that we reasonably believe violate these Terms or applicable law, with or without notice where circumstances require.

08

Your Content & license to us

You retain all ownership of your Content. We do not claim ownership of anything you upload. To operate the Service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, cache, transcode, encode, reformat, generate captions and translations for, transmit, and deliver your Content — solely as necessary to provide and improve the Service and to comply with your instructions and applicable law. This license ends when you delete the relevant Content, subject to the retention terms in our Privacy Policy.

You represent and warrant that you own or have all rights, licenses, and consents necessary to upload and distribute your Content through the Service and to grant the license above.

09

Our intellectual property

The Service, including its software, APIs, SDKs, documentation, design, and the Streamlet name and logo, is owned by us and protected by intellectual-property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from the Service except as permitted by law.

We welcome feedback. If you provide suggestions or ideas, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use them without obligation to you.

10

Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party infrastructure and processors — including cloud storage, edge delivery, payment processing, and AI-assisted caption generation — as described in our Privacy Policy. Your use of the Service may be subject to those providers' terms. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our control, and their availability may affect the Service.

11

Availability & support

We aim for high availability and publish operational status at streamletedge.com/status. Except where an SLA is expressly agreed in a separate written order for Pro or Scale customers, the Service is provided without any uptime guarantee. We may perform maintenance, and may throttle or limit the Service to protect its integrity, security, or performance.

12

Suspension & termination

You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access, in whole or in part, if you breach these Terms, fail to pay fees when due, create risk or legal exposure for us, or if required by law.

On termination, your right to use the Service ends and we may delete your Content and account data after a reasonable period, subject to our Privacy Policy. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law — will survive.

13

Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT CONTENT WILL NOT BE LOST OR CORRUPTED. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING YOUR OWN BACKUPS OF CRITICAL CONTENT.

14

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STREAMLET WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE THREE (3) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) INR 5,000. THESE LIMITS APPLY IN THE AGGREGATE AND NOT PER INCIDENT.

15

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Streamlet and its operators from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your Content, your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.

16

Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to any applicable mandatory law, the courts located in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service. The parties will first attempt to resolve disputes informally by contacting each other in good faith.

17

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
